For starters, I’d like to say I’m sorry to those of you who liked my previous theme and thought I should stick to it. I mean c’mon… you guys know me by now… do you think it’s possible for me to ever stick with the one and same theme
? And for those of you who are new; yes I change my theme a lot. In fact I change every time a new theme comes out that looks better than the one I currently have. It doesn’t necessarily have to be better… I just can’t stick to the one and same theme for too long. Please don’t take it as a metaphor for everything else in my life
.
So yesterday was the first day of Ramadan, and it went… okay. It was a little bit difficult due to lack of caffeine and medication, which resulted in me sleeping away a big chunk of the day and having a major headache even after iftar (the meal with which we break the fast). However, today went much better alhamdulillah. I barely felt anything! It’s incredible how fast your body adapts (subhanAllah).

This is the traditional iftar of the people of Dhaka (my mom’s hometown). At our place we break our fast with these items during the weekends.
Right now I’m sipping on my after-iftar-tea and generally feeling content. I’ve read several blog posts by people talking about what Ramadan means to them and I gotta say I’m pleasantly surprised. I’m so happy over the blogs I’ve found this year. Of course I’m also happy over the blogs that I still am connected with from the start. I’m very happy that I decided to focus on the blogosphere and social networks instead of some other places filled with negative influence (mainly chatrooms).
Halfway through 2012… there has been ups and downs… but I’m smiling – and at the end of the day, that’s all that means something
.
The first line of this post had a tone of “You know me, i can’t stick to a guy!”
Yeah bloggers are these days talking about Islam and Ramadan in an inspiring way. Only if they were the same all the time. :/
:@!!
Well maybe people are slowly starting to realize the good side of things. We can only hope and pray
.
It’s more like timely fashion. At least that’s what it is in Bangla blogosphere where I had been active for about 4 years. It’s like caring for mom on mother’s day, if you get my point.
I’m a huge fan of typography and I love the typefaces of this theme. I might get it someday.
That’s truly sad…
Yeah, that’s one of the reasons I like this theme
.
One of my close friends keeps this fast.. I don’t know much about it.. But, it is nice to have that sort of control over your life…
Blogging is way better than any other form of social networking…
I wouldn’t compare blogging to other social networks cuz blogging in itself isn’t a “network” unless you are active in it. Different social networks have different purposes… unfortunately people often misuse them or don’t understand them.
Totally agree.. But, I have never really explored other networking sites much.. I don’t really like them… I know what you mean, when you say people often misuse them..
such a sweet post! and the iftar looks great. i also found it beneficial to blog!
Thanks ^_^. What did you find beneficial?
When your page was loading, I thought there was something wrong with my internet connection cos’ i was expecting to see your site name written in bold.lol! It took me a moment to realize that you had changed your theme. This theme is wayyy nicer than the previous one
How’s fasting going for you? Almost fainted yesterday!lol
Hahahah thank you
!
Really :-O? How many hours do you fast? We fast for 19 hours over here
. It went well for me till last night when I suddenly got stomach cramps. But alhamdulillah it went over after a few hours. As I neither work nor study, I have a slight advantage, otherwise I too might have fainted
